Goals schmols ..

OK, so I still stink at blogging twice a week.  Just know that when I'm not blogging, I'm thinking about blogging.  So many things have been going on that has touched our hearts and lives.  Before I go on, I would like to share with you all two very sweet families.

On November 1st Jesus welcomed a sweet sweet boy Mark Hunsley into his arms.  Mark lost his battle with Dravet Syndrome, but he was incredibly blessed with parents Stephen and Kay Hunsley who always lifted Mark up to Jesus every day and spent every precious moment with him in his short life teaching him how much Jesus loved him and giving him every opportunity to grow and learn and making so many wonderful memories.  What an awesome show of God's glory and the faith that his parents have had in these years.  Mark was a HUGE blessing to all that met him.  I have not seen mark since he was 2, but even at that young age, he touched everyones heart that he encountered.   If you would like to learn more about Mark or would like to learn more about Dravet Syndrome, please email me.  Their story is so moving and it brings tears to my eyes, what an awesome testament Mark is, and I strive to live as he did; with child-like faith and happiness and freedom in his heart going through each day reminding everyone how much Jesus loves Me and Them!  He had no fear and great passion and impacted everyone around him with love.

The other family that has captivated my heart is Lisa and Mark, our new friends at Lenexa Baptist Church.  Lisa was put on bed-rest at the hospital for preeclampsia and her liver wasn't handling the trouble.  They were scheduled for a c-section two weeks later and gave birth to a sweet sweet little angle Eliana.  She was born at 25 weeks gestation at 1.4 pounds screaming and fighting for her life.  There will be many ups and downs for this little one, but she is really giving the Doctors one surprise after another as she beats all odds and makes it to the next day and the next day.  Mark and Lisa were at church this week, and with much healing left for Lisa and Eliana, they give all glory to God and know that every precious day with Eliana is a gift and they are prepared to give her back to him if he should call her home.  What an amazing show of faith!

I am so blessed to know these families!

Now, I have still been working towards my goals.. baking away, trying all kinds of new recipes.  I have finally decided what tools to use with the kiddos I will be working with and having soo much fun.  We will be using tools from "Curious Chef."  Here's a sneak peek!
